Lean-to at Säkkimäki
We have a built a lean-to at the highest hill of Puumala's southern archipelago, at Säkkimäki. The lean-to is in public use. You can find there a campfire site, firewood and a view of Lake Saimaa. The grand opening was organized on Saturday 16th of July 2011. There were about 40 guest and the two first of them, Merja and Kari from Vääksy are at the picture.

We started to build the lean-to in the beginning of June on the yard of the farm Kivenjuuri, right at the foot of Säkkimäki. The persons involved in the construction of the lean-to were Martti Venäläinen, Taito Mielonen, Kalevi Kiljunen, Liisa Kiljunen and Jani Kiljunen. The local sawyer Timo Korhonen supplied timber for the lean-to.

Walk to the lean-to is about 300 meters steep uphill. There are not any waste bins at the lean-to, so please make sure you take away everything you bring along.
